Yes, it’s true. Although I like wordpress very much, and it has some good features, I am moving to blogspot. Since there are more people that I know that are on blogspot, it will be easier to connect with them all. So, it’s been great here, but adios.

Barricaded

Yesterday was quite the experience. When I got home from work and pulled into our apartments I saw a whole ton of police cars. I thought ok whatever. When I turned to drive into our spot it was all blocked off with police tape and officers. So I parked close by, and asked them what was going on. Apparently a man had barricaded himself into one of the apartments on our row (thankfully not our building), and would not come out. I started to wonder if it was just a simple matter of barricading yourself in an apartment, and saying you won’t come out, to get the police and SWAT team out to your apartment building. Later I learned that he was also a suspect in armed robbery and they had chased him there from a neighboring town, Gilbert. I guess it takes more than saying you won’t come out to get the cops there.

Well, I had class soon, and Ben was already in the apartment so I asked the police if I could just go into my apartment. They complied. But we weren’t supposed to leave out apartment, so we just stayed in there and I missed class.

Anyway, the cool part (and Ben was a little jealous about this) was that I got to see the robot that the SWAT team was sending in. It looked to me like something that you’d see landing on Mars and taking little samples. Oh, and we saw our apartments on TV.

All in all, not a bad day. I just hope it doesn’t happen again, I didn’t really like the cops attitude, but then again it was like 100 degrees outside so I can’t blame them for getting upset about standing around in it.

IT’S BBQ!

For all of you Arizonians out there I have the BEST recommendation for BBQ. Not only is it fantastic BBQ, but it’s the most relaxing setting for a resturant I’ve ever enjoyed. The name is Joe’s Farm Grill.

They use as much food from their local farm as possible, and try to keep it as wholesome and natural as possible. The result: Deliciousness…hmmm… It’s off of Higley and Ray; I know for some of us it’s kinda far, but trust me, it’s well worth it!

It’s set on an actual old farm, so it has that cool serene look like you just walked out the back porch door into a fresh, cool yard. Lots of trees and picnic tables.

The best time to go is around 7:30pm, just when it’s starting to get cool and dark, and they have strung lights to give the place a nice soft evening look.

My recommendation: Go in and ask for the Pork BBQ sandwich, with a side of sweet potatoe fries, and down it all with a delicious Root Beer Float.

Another great thing about it is… you’ll never guess… but the BATHROOM!

It’s like walking into a time warp, or Space Odessey. It has a little TV above the urinal (it’s a boys and girls bathroom), and the tv plays episodes of “Stingray” over and over all day. Now, if you’re my age you don’t even remember “Stingray” (apperantly Ben’s Dad does, and my Grandpa does too), it’s an old puppet TV show, no not a kids show and not muppets, but puppets. Take a look see…

You have to go and take a look for yourself. It’s the greatest.

P.S. – The only bad thing is that they close at 9pm, so dont’ get there too late.

I am so happy! All started because I filled up for $3.66/gallon today!!! It cost me less than $40 to get my tank full!

About a week ago…I think it was a week…anyway, a week ago I went to downtown Mesa to get my haircut, but I was early ’cause I had to drop off a necklace at the jewelers to get fixed. I wandered around the antique shops for a couple hours not really sure what I was looking for. I really like to look at the hats (except that they’re really expensive), and wonder which one I could pull off. I’m in the mood to bring the 30′s and 40′s back. They had some really great stuff!

Ok, back to the point, I found a really great tablecloth for our dining table, and here it is:

I had a friend that I worked with at the ZP and she always said “Hugs are Healthy.” I’d like to endorse this idea. So, here is my challenge for the day: Go hug someone, anyone. Hug someone everyday, it’ll make both of your days brighter. If you don’t believe me, just watch this video.

Dreams Come True

I was at Young Women’s last night…did I tell you I’m a Young Women’s Adviser? Well, I am…and I love it! These girls are really neat! All of them are each writing a book. They didn’t plan it that way, they just started to write each on their own. So, last night for a YW activity they each brought their stories and read them. Well, I think all of them were kind of love stories, and each time they’d read something really sweet that the guy would do in their story, they would all sigh and of course “ooh” and “ahh”. Well, who can blame them, right? All of us girls love a good romantic novel once in a while. But the real reason I was “ooh-ing” and “ahh-ing” is because all those sweet things that the guys in their books would do, are what Ben does for me everyday. In one of the stories the boy called her “My Angel”, and my sweet Ben does that all the time. Sometimes he will carry me to bed when I fall asleep on the couch, or do little services to let me know he loves me, like set up a mister on the porch so that we can go out there to read and not get too hot, or a million other things. He is truly my prince charming, and I am so lucky! I love you Ben! So, just remember girls that happily ever after’s do come true. You just need a mixture of: patience, faith, and a great personality. Just kidding, (except the patience and faith part) but the real way to find the man you want is to try your best to have those good qualities that you look for in him.
